CTBF- Steak with Mustard Butter and French Fries.
This was an easy dish to make, but it required time for preparation.
I am not a lover of big steaks, so I chose to use steak tips.
I prepped the tips with the spices and let them sit in the refrigerator for one hour. While the steak tips were marinating, I prepped the French Fries.
I loved hearing how French Fries were started by the Belgians (something that was way back in my memory bank) and how the Americans do not like deep fryers. I do have to admit, I have a deep fryer tucked away- but I did not pull it out for the fries. I baked them in the oven as David did and they came out very crispy and flavorful. I have always loved rosemary fries, but enjoyed adding in the thyme for additional flavor.
While they were cooking, I prepped some grilled asparagus to round out the meal.
The mustard butter was delicious and easy to prep- I just wish I had one of my mother’s butter molds for these.
I then grilled the steak tips in a grill pan ( the outdoor grill is all covered up and hibernating after being covered with snow) and I was surprised how nice it turned out. I do not typically like a pan fried steak- but doing it over high heat made the tips stay tender
This was a very tasty Saturday night meal and enjoyed by all!!
